PCA Upgrade Procedures

The upgrade process requires that the previous version of PCA be removed.

To upgrade the Personal Credential Assistance (PCA)

1. Back up the existing configuration files. Depending on the installation type, go to the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\HID Global\PCA or C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberArmed\PCA.

2. Backup the cmsserverlist.txt and PersonalCredentialAssistant.exe.config files to a different directory so that they can be restored in the steps below

3. Go to the Add/Remove programs and uninstall PCA / Personal Credential Assistance

4. With the PCA software removed, go to the new installation disk

5. Run the PCA installer.

6. Once the installation is complete, copy the cmsserverlist.txt and PersonalCredentialAssistant.exe.config files to C:\Program Files (x86)\HID Global\PCA or C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberArmed\PCA.

7. Start PCA and perform a login to verify the upgrade was successful.
