Installation overview
The workstation software phase will install the necessary hardware, drivers and software to perform biometric enrollment, credential printing, and credential encoding.
Installation sequence
The installation of the workstation software requires the sequence below. It is critical that this sequence is installed because each progressive install step depends on the on the installation step before it.

System verification |
System installation engineer validates the workstation has all of the requirements listed in the "Workstation Installation prerequisites" section. |

PIV Card Issued |
System installation engineer validates that their PIV, PIV-I, CIV credential is encoded and can be read by the ActivClient middleware. Also, any required issuing certificates are installed to verify that the credential is trusted and can be used in SSL authentication transaction. |

Binary Installation |
System installation engineer performs the install procedures listed in the installation guide. |

4 |
Peripheral Connection |
System installation engineer plugs in and tests the peripherals (camera, smart card reader, fingerprint reader) |

System Test |
System installation engineer performs the system installation tests to verify the software and hardware has been installed properly. |

Production configuration |
System installation engineer configures the workstation to interact with the IDMS> |
Installation sequence for the print option
For printing credentials, the HDP5000 card printer will be installed. The instructions below provide instructions for this process.
