IDMS Server Installation Prerequisites

The IDMS installation requires digital certificates for secure communications, account permissions and an IIS application environment for installation. The information below lists the specific requirements for installation.

Permissions
During installation, the IDMS creates a database called "IdExchange". Before installation, the DBA should create an account (Windows Authentication is preferred) to allow the IDMS installation program to login and create the database and tables.  The account should also have access to "Alter" tables.

  • CREATE DATABASE (IdExchange)

  • CREATE TABLE (IdExchange)

  • ALTER TABLE (IdExchange)

  • INSERT (IdExchange)

  • UPDATE (IdExchange)

IDMS Service Account
This is the account the application will run as.

Local administrative privileges on IDMS server
Read access to Active Directory
Read/write access to SQL server

HID ActivID CMS (Optional - For CMS Reporting Services)

Read access to the AIMS* databases

Dedicated client certificate registered with CMS with appropriate permissions (see sections for IDMS and Workstation CMS credential setup)
