Specifying Printers for a Credential Policy

The credential policy can specify printers that will be used for the printing of the credential. This is useful for when an organization wants to target certain printers to print certain individuals. For example, the California printer can be configured to print the California users.

Prerequisites

User should authenticate with the System Manager role
Locate the badge printer serial number

Part 1. Add the Printer Information

First add the printer(s) information to the system.

1	Authenticate using the SystemManager role.
2	Click Administration, Click Printers. You will be directed to the Printer Management screen. You can view the existing printers and key identifying and maintenance information.
3	Press the + Printer button to add a new printer.
4	To add the new printer, enter the printer serial number from the printer and a brief description and press the Add Printer button.
5	Select the Confirm button to verify the selection to add a printer.

Part 2. Assign the Printer to the Credential Policy

Once the badge printers are added correctly, specify which printers should be used for the respective credential policy.

1	Click Administration, Click Credential Types.
2	Locate the credential policy to be updated and press the gear button. Then select Configure Policy.
3	Select the Device Issuance tab, then scroll towards the bottom to the Badge Printing section.
4	In the Select the printer to be used by this policy field, click on the printer(s) serial number that will be used by the policy. Note, you can select multiple printers with the multi-select option.
5	After making the selection, scroll to the bottom of the configuration screen and press Save Changes.
6	Press Confirm to apply the printer selection per credential policy. The printer(s) is now available to be used by the credential policy to print badges.
