Card Expiration Date Settings
By default, the IDMS specifies a 5 year max for a card expiration date. To configurate the years the card is valid, the Card Validity setting can be used.
Creating an expiration date past 5 years requires a CMS change. Perform the procedures in the CMS Configuration section to be able to set the expiration date past 5 years.
Prerequisites
Required Permissions: System Manager Role Definitions
Required Software: The IDMS must be connected the to the HID Credential Management System.

CMS Configuration
When setting a card expiration date past 5 years, the CMS system must be updated. The procedures are as follows:

3 | Backup the PIVEnrollment.properties (in case it needs to be restored). | |
4 | Edit the PIVEnrollment.properties. | |
5 | Locate the ExpirationDate.store_enforcedFormat.maxDuration.value setting. | |
6 | Set the value to the desired years. For example, the configuration is set for a 6-year max expiration. | ![]() |

8 | Restart the CMS Service. |
