Requesting a Credential

How to Request a Credential for an Existing User

In this step, the applicant (or a sponsor) formally requests a specific type of credential for the user, such as an employee badge, contractor pass, or visitor credential.

This process will retrieve the user from the identity repository to prepare them for the credential issuance process. 


Prerequisites

To create a request, the following is required.

  • The user must already exist in the directory, otherwise first complete the steps to add a new user. Adding an Applicant

  • The user to be requested is in the directory that the IDMS is configured to search.

  • The operator has been granted the Requestor role. 

  • If submitting photo and user attribute data, operator has been granted Enrollment Officer Role.

After logging into the IDMS, select Identity and then select the Request button.

Enter the user information and select the Search button.

Find the user in the search box below and select the Request Credential Button.

The detail page opens showing different system values. Select the configured credential policy from the Credential Type drop-down list to apply.

Select Proceed to move to the next phase.

Note: Due to database encryption, need to search using Employee ID or the exact last name.
